I AM a writer, book reviewer and independent scholar residing in Orkney. I write short stories for adults and children and am currently working on a novel in each category. I also write poetry and have a keen interest in art and art history which occasionally inform my work.
I hold an MLitt in Literature (2013) from the University of the Highlands and Islands. In 2013 I won the inaugural George Mackay Brown Short Story Prize and was shortlisted in 2015.
My essays, reviews, short stories and poems have appeared in literary anthologies and journals, both online and in print.
